Editorial comment

The low result was not concentrated on one page

In the monthly Google Analytics record, total sessions, active users and page views were all at their lowest point in the period from May 2025 to April 2026. Organic Search and Direct sessions were also at the bottom of their respective 12-month records. The low level was visible across all three measures.

The landing-page breakdown points away from a single-page explanation. The WSL 2 guide was the largest page in April, but its share had fallen from its March peak. Its decline accounted for less than half of the net change across landing pages. The rest was spread across the homepage and many smaller paths. The April record therefore does not support an intervention focused on one article.

Direct, the Google Analytics channel in which the original source is not always visible, made the largest negative contribution among the channels. Organic Search moved in the same direction and reached the lowest point in its 12-month record. The source and country breakdowns show how the movement was distributed, not what caused it. I therefore do not attribute the low result to a particular distribution activity or type of reader behavior.

Google Analytics has no daily rows for 17, 21 or 25 April. The daily query also differs from the monthly query by one session. I therefore treat the 12-month ranking as a position within the data that was recorded. It is not enough to state the exact size of a March-to-April decline or call it a lasting trend.

There is no Google Search Console data for this period. I cannot interpret the movement in Google Analytics Organic Search sessions as a change in search visibility, rankings, click-through rate or queries. At this stage, the April data does not support a page-level content or SEO intervention.
