Why I Retired Some of My Technical Articles

This site used to contain many more technical guides from around 2021, and some still remain. They include installation notes, unfinished project series, and infrastructure experiments or benchmarks that I no longer maintain.

I wrote these articles to share solutions to problems I had encountered and to make the same work easier for someone else. I enjoyed doing that, and I still do.

The way we find technical answers is changing, though. Many of the questions I once tried to answer here are now easier to explore with AI tools, where you can include the exact version, environment, and error you are dealing with.

A technical guide stays reliable only when it is tested again and updated regularly. But age or low traffic alone is not a reason to delete one.

When deciding, I look at whether it still fits the site's direction, is genuinely useful today, and offers a distinct first-hand or non-search value. Overlap with a better article, the maintenance and evidence burden, the audience I want to reach, and the right transition outcome are also part of the decision.

When a clearer, current overview can take over the subject, consolidation may be more appropriate than removal.

If you arrived here through one of those articles, it is not gone because I think your question does not matter. It is gone because I can no longer stand behind the answer with enough confidence. The source page is removed, and its former canonical URL and known aliases are treated as gone (410), rather than being sent somewhere unrelated.

Retiring the two generic clean-PHP guides does not mean clean code or architecture has become less important. The opposite is true: AI-generated code still needs structure that people can review, reason about, and maintain; clear boundaries also reduce context confusion and waste in AI-assisted work. That is a more useful subject for a future, modern article than preserving a generic guide I no longer maintain.
